If you think you have plenty of money to burn, you might want to reconsider before you strike that match! (Especially if the money isn’t yours).
A man in London was sentenced to community service after burning a pile of cash that was estimated to be about $34,000. Leo Casey, 63, began burning the dough after an argument with his partner. The article didn’t specify who the money actually belonged to.
We can’t help but offer a few words of advice to the probationary perp. Mr. Casey, if you are going to exact revenge against someone by means of money, burning it is the dumbest way to do it. Here is a list of what you could have done to get your revenge:
- You could have spent it on yourself.
- You could have bought things the other person doesn’t like.
- You could have given the money away.
- You could have publicly given the money to charity, making yourself look like the good guy.
- You could have hidden the money.
- You could have used it to escape from your partner and spent it on your own getaway.
- You could have taken a vacation.
- Or most obvious, you could have sent it to me.
